Job Title: Legal Secretary - Residential Conveyancing
Salary - Negotiable

Main Job Purpose
Our client are a leading Solicitors & Estate Agents based in Edinburgh who are looking for an experienced Legal Secretary to support one of their fast-paced conveyancing teams with a particular focus on new-build properties. The postholder will assist the team with all aspects of residential conveyancing, supporting client communication and dictation for the team.
Main responsibilities
Responsible for assisting the team with all aspects of residential conveyancing
Assist the team with typing correspondence from digital dictation
Responsible for handling emails and calls from clients to support fee earner cases
Process forms for the Land Register where required
Dealing with LBTT returns to Revenue Scotland
Instruct all necessary searches as required for the property
Any additional ad-hoc duties as required by the Partner.
Knowledge Skills and Experience Required
Essential
Experience working in a busy residential conveyancing team
Have knowledge of current residential conveyancing practice
Have excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
Have excellent people skills and deliver first rate customer service
Have a high standard of written and oral communication
Ability to manage time and prioritise workload effectively
Work effectively on your own as well as in a busy team
Be IT literate and familiar with MS Office software and relevant systems.
Desirable
Experience dealing with new-build transactions
