Production Manager - Interim

Our business partner are the leading manufacturer of advanced materials and components with over 100 years of experience. The diversified product range includes wear parts and bearings, engineering ceramics, high temperature resistant materials, hard metals, and passive fire protection solutions. The company's headquarters are situated in Manchester but they also have factories in United States of America, France, Germany, the Czech Republic and Italy.

Key Responsibilities;

* Manage both the people and the manufacturing process towards improvement and the maximum balance of output.
* Project management and planning maintenance alongside production.
* Manage quality though successful planning, organisation, optimisation, maintenance and health and safety.
* Cover the production and project management of the department whilst the Manufacturing Manager is heavily involved in the introduction of a new ERP system.
* Responsible for the day-to-day management of 60-70 employees.
* Ensuring that the manufacturing team meets a number of KPI's including manufacturing efficiency, quality improvement, waste reduction and delivery.
* Manage quality though successful planning, organisation, optimisation, maintenance and health and safety.
* Motivate employees towards maintaining high standards in their work and overcoming difficulties.
* Developing and coaching the team.

* Strong project management skills.
* Skills necessary to manage budgets.
* Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
* A strategic focus is important alongside an analytical approach to improving the department.
* Competence with both setting and achieving objectives.
* Proactive and solution orientated with the ability to cope in difficult/demanding situations.
* Technically and commercially aware.
* Degree qualified, preferably in a mechanical discipline.
* 5 plus years' experience in a similar role.
* Extensive knowledge of process manufacturing.
* Familiar with a range of production machinery.
* It would be an advantage to have knowledge of vacuum forming systems and paper machines.
