Search Consultancy have partnered exclusively with a charitable organisation based in East Lothian to recruit the position of Assistant Accountant role on a permanent basis. The charity is passionate about making a difference to the individuals that they support and work closely with the local community.

This rare opportunity has become available due to a recent vacancy in the back-office team at an exciting time in the organisation's development. The successful candidate will report to the Finance Manager, providing payroll services to staff and be responsible for ensuring invoiced are raised and payments made on time. The key purpose of the role is to work as part of a team to support the effective and efficient management of the organisation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring that all invoiced are processed in line with the Charity's regulations
  • Prepare the monthly bank reconciliations and payments
  • Reconciling purchase and sales ledger accounts
  • Preparing monthly financial accounts for the business manager
  • Summarising annual income and expenditure
  • Assisting in the preparation of the annual external audit
  • Preparing bank and cash schedules
  • Ownership and responsibilities of the Charity's payroll service
  • Support the management of HR where necessary

Requirements

  • Bookkeeping/accounts assistant experience
  • Knowledge of SAGE accounting software
  • Experience in the public sector would be desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Salary will range from £25,000 - £27,500 with additional company benefits
