Health & Safety Co-ordinator
Midlothian-based office | can be fully office based or some flexibility can be given for hybrid working
Full time role | Monday to Friday
Up to £30,000 per annum + benefits
Fixed-Term Contract role for 9 months initially | strong potential to be made permanent
Search are currently working exclusively with a market-leading client based in Midlothian to recruit this role on an initial Fixed-Term basis for 9 months, with the role highly likely to become permanent for the right candidate.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing administration & co-ordination support to the Health & Safety Manager & Head of Operations in delivering a comprehensive Health & Safety Service across the business - as well as providing administrative support across some additional teams in the office.
Duties involved in this role will include:
* Supporting the H&S Manager with implementing effective H&S policies & procedures
* Organising H&S training for both current staff & new starts to the business
* Liaising with external suppliers & facilities management to resolve any building or accommodation issues
* Engaging with local suppliers & organising the delivery of PAT testing , environmental assessments & fire risk assessments amongst other services
* Liaising with local H&S reps across the UK to co-ordinate training & reporting
* Maintaining & completing the company accident record book
* Management and ordering of PPE for the office
* Liaising with IT suppliers ensuring that IT security, equipment & systems are maintained
* Manage & update the company SharePoint site & assist other departments as necessary
* Ensuring records & databases are kept fully up to date
* Liaising with the finance team regarding billing, invoicing, & operational finance
* Various other ad hoc administrative & H&S duties as required
In order to be considered for this role your skills and experience should include:
* A strong working knowledge of Health & Safety in an office-based environment - ESSENTIAL
* Candidates who are RoSPA or NEBOSH qualified would be preferred, although this is not essential
* Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise & complete your workload effectively and achieve deadlines, deliverables & targets when set.
* Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal as you will be dealing with a variety of levels within both the business and external companies/suppliers
* Solid IT skills, including MS Office
