Essential requirements or experience
- A recognised training qualification (e.g., PTLLS, Certificate in Education, CIPD, or an equivalent credential).
- MAYBO accreditation (preferred).
- Experience in designing and delivering learning and development interventions for diverse audiences.
- A creative mindset for developing and implementing mandatory learning and development solutions and management training.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of individuals.
- Knowledge of the health and social care sector is advantageous but not essential.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the Learning & Development Manager in meeting organisational requirements for mandatory training and addressing individual learning and development needs of staff and managers.
- Develop and deliver engaging learning and development programs and workshops designed to build staff capability and drive organisational change.
- Design, implement, and evaluate a rolling program of training and refresher courses in alignment with the client's learning and development strategy.
- Ensure all training programs reflect the client's policies, procedures, relevant legislation, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support the development and implementation of a quality assurance framework to monitor the effectiveness of training and assess staff competency.
- Maintain accurate training records and update the learning management system with attendance and other relevant data in a timely manner.
- Continuously evaluate and modify existing training programs to maximise learner experience and support ongoing capability development.
- Stay informed about local and national issues affecting staff, incorporating these considerations into learning interventions in collaboration with subject matter experts and managers.
- Provide cover and support for other regional trainers as required, responding to identified training demands.
- Offer advice to managers on the development of safety plans, ensuring compliance with MAYBO guidelines.
Liaison and collaboration
- Maintain regular communication with the Learning & Development Manager and Senior Learning & Development Trainer/Team Leader, providing updates through written reports, emails, phone calls, and in-person meetings.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships within the learning and development team, as well as with external training providers, healthcare organisations, and other stakeholders.
- Actively participate in team meetings, contributing to the continuous evolution and improvement of the learning and development portfolio.
- Collaborate with service managers and training coordinators to understand the learning and development needs of staff at all levels.
- Keep up-to-date with research, trends, and best practices in learning and development, ensuring training programs are innovative and effective.
