Requirements for each position vary, though all professionals are required to have some knowledge of drugs, treatment, and associated medical conditions and clinical research. Previous experience in a similar scientific environment will be favoured.

Many pharmaceutical jobs require both undergraduate and post-graduate education in pharmacology or prior experience within the pharmaceutical field.
