Injection Moulding Technician

We are looking for an experienced Injection Moulding Process Technician to work on a 4 on 4 off Continental Shift.

Rotating dayshift/nightshift basis - (7am to 7pm days, 7pm - 7am nights).

Key responsibilities will include:

  • To ensure work carried out and machines conform to SHE procedures and comply with defined working methods to deliver a continually improving SHE performance
  • Comply with all Health & Safety policies and procedures; participating in safety improvement activity as required
  • To carry out tool changes as instructed and planned
  • Ensuring cavitation on moulds is at the maximum achievable level in conjunction with manufacturing and planning teams
  • To support the achievement of OEE targets with correct processing parameters, within targeted cycle times and keeping machine downtime to a minimum
  • Working in partnership with Quality team to identify quality issues to ensure the quality of product is maintained to internal specifications.
  • Work to comply with ISO Quality and relevant industry Standards
  • Complete relevant paperwork to capture any works carried out
  • To ensure mould maintenance request paperwork is correctly filled out with as much information as possible. Relevant samples to be supplied along with this paperwork.
  • Any maintenance issues with the injection moulding machines and ancillaries need to be identified and resolved where possible. When this is not possible these need to be passed to the Maintenance team.
  • Ensure housekeeping and 5S standards are met and tasks are completed as specified
  • Cleaning of mould faces during production runs and lubrication of relevant parts of the mould on a regular basis
  • Reduce scrap and held ware in line with department targets.
  • Work as part of a team to make improvements to the moulding process on each machine.
  • Work closely with the Tooling team to identify faults/improvements on moulds.
  • Be available for any internal and external training which is deemed relevant to the role.
  • Flexibility to work overtime when required to cover absence and holiday.
  • Ensure shift handover to next person in team is done verbally and written in the shift handover log.
  • Work with the CI Team, participating and supporting improvement projects as required.

    The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

    • Fully qualified Technician with experience in full end-to end process: tool hanging, setting, operating/programming, trouble-shooting , injection moulding machines
    • Experienced working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
    • Apprenticeship trained or relevant industry experience
    • A safety conscious approach to work and their working environment.
    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Efficiently working on their own initiative and as part of a team.
    • A positive and enthusiastic attitude and be able to take direction from peers.

    You must be eligible to live and work in the UK and able to commute to job location.

    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

    Salary: Up to £38,817.00 per year

    Additionally, a supplementary £2k salary uplift shall be applied subject to successful completion of Basic Electrical Skills (Multiskilling) Training Course.

    Applicants who are already multiskilled, the aforementioned salary uplift will be inclusive as part of COE/offer.
