At Search, we are resolute in our commitment to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050 across our entire group, which includes Search Consultancy Ltd and Henderson Scott Ltd. We are dedicated to reducing our carbon footprint and supporting the Government's Net Zero targets through comprehensive measures and ongoing initiatives.
Our carbon reduction commitment:
We engaged with Carbon Neutral Britain to measure and calculate our total carbon footprint for 2022/23. This thorough assessment enables us to set future targets accurately and take climate action by offsetting emissions where reduction is not yet possible. As of October 2023, we are proud to operate as a certified carbon-neutral business.

Key achievements and initiatives:
To advance towards Net Zero, we have implemented several impactful carbon reduction projects.
- Modern office spaces: Transitioning to energy-efficient, modern offices and exiting older properties.
- Energy efficiency: Introducing PIR motion-sensor lighting in open-plan spaces and partnering with green energy suppliers.
- Sustainable technology: Upgrading to Eco-Power laptops and low-powered monitors.
- Waste reduction: Managing waste in line with ISO14001 accreditation and reducing single-use plastic by providing refillable water bottles.
- Sustainable commuting: Promoting cycle-to-work schemes and offering hybrid working arrangements to reduce daily commuting emissions.
- Travel governance: Implementing tighter controls around travel through our SAP system to reduce unnecessary air, train, and hotel usage.
Emissions reduction targets
To continue our progress towards Net Zero, we have set ambitious carbon reduction targets. We aim to decrease our carbon emissions by 50% over the next seven years, achieving significant annual reductions. These efforts are designed to align with our long-term goal of achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.

- Cloud solutions: Progressively transferring our IT estate to a 100% cloud-based solution.

- Right-sizing properties: Continuously monitoring and right-sizing our property estate to ensure optimal energy efficiency.
- Electric vehicle scheme: Further exploring our EV scheme to further reduce our transportation emissions.
