Search MD named amongst Northern Power Women top 50

 Debbie Caswell, Managing Director at Search Consultancy in England has been listed amongst Northern Power Women’s top 50 list. The placement comes at a pivotal time for women, not just in the Northwest but around the world, as they commemorate International Women’s Day.

Northern Power Women is a collaborative campaign to accelerate gender diversity from the North of England. The project encourages transformation of business culture to increase opportunities for women in business and showcase role models and best practice businesses that are driving and leading economic growth.

Responsible for more than 420 recruitment professionals, Debbie leads her business with real passion, energy and dedication. Having worked through the ranks of recruitment from Administrator to Managing Director, she is a strong advocate for empowering women in the workplace and ‘growing your own talent’.

Over the past two years, Debbie has hosted a number of workshops and seminars across her region, aimed at highlighting changes to legislation that are likely to have a significant impact on how businesses foster gender equality in the workplace. Two key topics covered were Gender Pay Gap Reporting and Shared Parental Leave.

She is a firm believer that Search, a company that boasts relationships with a large number of employers across England, has a responsibility to the business community to be an advocate of best practice in implementing legislation that serves to create a more diverse and gender equal workforce.

In acknowledging the importance of social mobility and creating opportunities for young girls to fulfil their full potential, Debbie has also committed to supporting Search's Manchester office in contributing towards initiatives for RECLAIM - a local Youth Leadership and Change organisation. The charity's most recent project involves a group of 12 and 13 year old girls from Moss Side who are determined to turn around the way their community has historically been perceived.

When asked for a comment on her placement in the top 50, Debbie said: “I’m delighted to be a Northern Power Woman because I’m 100 percent committed to nurturing, encouraging and promoting talented women within businesses and throughout the community.”
