Search IT announces restructure of teams across the UK
Recent statistics have shown that approximately 40 percent of the UK’s technology workers are contractors, and Search is responding to this through a management restructure with more focused attention towards the flexible IT workforce.
As the UK prepares to leave the Single Market, Search IT is shaking things up by promoting two existing IT recruitment experts in Scotland whilst bringing on new hires in England. Through this restructure, we hope to meet the needs of clients who are reluctant to take on permanent staff by providing a faster response rate and more targeted access to the contractor talent pool.
Initially operating through a dual recruitment team, simultaneously offering recruitment solutions for contract and permanent roles, our offices throughout the UK have restructured into two teams to focus solely on each individual market.
Donna Turner, Search Director and Head of IT, Digital & Change in Scotland, said: “I am delighted to see that Search IT in Scotland is officially ‘under new management’, but with two very experienced IT recruitment specialists leading the team. Ciaran Ahern has been appointed to Associate Director to head up both divisions, and Marc Wilson to Divisional Manager for our contractor division.”
“They collectively have over 30 years’ experience, and during that time they have generated a significant number of long-term and profitable relationships for Search within our market. Their strong track record means that I am confident that they will be successful in maintaining our existing client and candidate database whilst expanding our contractor recruitment presence in the IT market.”
Meanwhile, the specialist IT team in England has recruited Robert Hall as Divisional Manager for the Northwest.
“We are delighted to have Rob on board! In previous roles, he has demonstrated a firm understanding of the contractor market, and is proactive in identifying the specific IT demands of our clients within the vast range of industry sectors we represent at Search,” says Philip Piper, Director and Head of IT, Digital & Change in England.
“His experience in contract placements dates back to the Y2K era, where employers were cautious to hire permanent employees. As such, I believe that he will be instrumental in addressing the current demand for flexibility within our market, and transform uncertainty into opportunity!”
It’s exciting times for all our teams in IT as we focus and strengthen our approach to provide an even better recruitment service to our candidates and clients across the UK.
