Search Driving & Logistics hosts industry workshop in Liverpool

On 9 March, Search Driving & Logistics hosted their annual industry workshop on the 2nd floor of the firm’s Liverpool office.

Over 80 clients and business leaders within Search’s network turned up to receive insights on impending legislative reforms and how Britain’s exit from the EU will have an impact the industry in 2017 and beyond.

Guest speakers were carefully selected to participate in the event, with each of them being experts in employment law and how it relates to the industry. Speakers included representatives from DWF Solicitors, I-PAYE, FTA, HR Adviserplus, AHP and Think Logistics.

Employers were given the low down on the potential impact of Brexit on the Logistics sector, HMRC amendments and how it will potentially impact contractors in the market, updates to motor insurance and driving CPC, the apprenticeship levy, lean efficiencies in Logistics and an early learning campaign to foster careers in Logistics.

The event was a success, with many of the attendees commenting on how the talks had given them a clearer glimpse into the future, thus empowering them to better adapt to the industrial and legislative changes on the horizon.

Senior Divisional Manager for Driving & Logistics, Lindsey Thompson said: “I am delighted by the flawless execution of what has been yet another successful workshop, with many of our clients noting how informative and insightful it was.”

“Through these programmes we continue to affirm our position as more than just a recruitment agency looking to fill jobs, because we demonstrate vested interest in, and specialist knowledge of the market we cover.”

“It is my hope that we can continue to educate our clients on matters that concern them, and thus add value to their organisations – not just by supplying candidates, but by making them aware of how their work processes, training schemes and legislation will evolve in the future.”
