An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and ambitious Sous Chef to join a prestigious financial services site in Central London. This is a high-profile, retail-focused operation delivering fresh, innovative food to up to 300 customers daily, with a strong emphasis on international cuisine, modern street food concepts, and high-quality seasonal dishes.

Working alongside an experienced Head Chef, you will play a key role in leading a brigade of 6 chefs, ensuring the food offer remains fresh, engaging, and consistently delivered to an exceptional standard.

The Role

As Sous Chef, you will support the day-to-day management of the kitchen, helping to drive standards, develop the team, and deliver an exciting retail food offer that keeps customers engaged and returning daily.

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires a chef who is equally comfortable leading service, developing menus, coaching junior chefs, and ensuring all compliance and due diligence procedures are maintained to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen
  • Leading, motivating, and developing a team of 6 chefs
  • Delivering a fresh, vibrant retail food offer serving up to 300 covers per day
  • Contributing to menu development with a focus on international cuisine and street food concepts
  • Maintaining exceptional standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
  • Managing food safety systems, HACCP documentation, allergen compliance, and due diligence procedures
  • Ensuring the kitchen remains fully compliant with EHO requirements and company standards
  • Assisting with stock control, ordering, GP management, and waste reduction initiatives
  • Leading service from the front and maintaining a positive kitchen culture

About You

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Sous Chef within contract catering, B&I, hotels, or a quality fresh-food environment
  • Strong knowledge of international cuisines, modern food trends, and street food concepts
  • A passionate and skilled chef with excellent culinary standards
  • Proven experience managing and developing kitchen teams
  • Strong understanding of EHO requirements, HACCP, food safety legislation, and kitchen due diligence
  • Organised, proactive, and calm under pressure
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Passionate about delivering high-quality food and customer experiences
