Our client, a prominent name in the construction industry, is on the lookout for a skilled and qualified / part-qualified accountant or QBE professional to join their esteemed finance team. As a vital member of the finance team, you will report directly to the number 1 in finance, playing a pivotal role in managing the financial reporting and management information for both the company and its subsidiaries. This is a key position within the business, ideal for a technically proficient finance professional looking to further develop their skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monthly consolidation of accounts to provide comprehensive financial insights.
- Preparation of year-end financial statements for each of our group companies.
- Taking charge of the audit process, demonstrating leadership and expertise.
- Fulfilling Company Secretarial duties for all group entities.
- Ensuring compliance with VAT and CIS schemes, handling submissions as required.
- Liaising with HMRC, external auditors, joint venture partners, and other stakeholders on statutory compliance matters.
- Leading the team to meet critical deadlines with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
- Upholding high standards of work to meet the expectations of all stakeholders.
- Identifying opportunities for continual improvement in the information provided to the wider business.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA) or Qualified by Experience (QBE).
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of Sage software (beneficial but not essential).
- Proficient in Excel, with strong analytical skills.
- Experience in the construction industry (beneficial but not essential).
- A team player with the ability to manage workload efficiently and meet deadlines consistently.
