Finance Assistant (Sales Ledger)
Location: Leeds
Salary: £27,000-£30,000 depending on experience
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
About the Company
Search are recruiting for an experienced Finance Assistant to join a growing business in Leeds. This role focuses on the sales ledger, including invoicing, credit control, rebates, refunds, cash allocation and reconciliation. You will work closely with customers and internal teams to ensure accuracy, efficiency and excellent service.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone confident working with large data sets, ERP systems (NetSuite experience is advantageous but not essential), and Excel, who is looking to grow within a dynamic finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Ledger & Invoicing
- Raise accurate invoices and process rebates in line with agreements
Credit Control & Cash Collection
- Chase overdue payments and allocate cash/remittances
Customer & Stakeholder Management
- Resolve queries, disputes, and issue refunds
- Maintain accurate account records and strong customer relationships
- Collaborate with internal teams and support ad hoc enquiries
Data & Reporting
- Analyse and reconcile data using Excel
- Manage invoicing and collections across systems and portals
Other Duties
- Support month-end processes and continuous improvements
- Provide wider finance team cover and assist with ad hoc tasks
Skills & Experience
Technical & Finance Skills

Experience in Finance Assistant, Credit Control, Sales Ledger or Accounts Receivable

AAT qualified, part‑qualified, or QBE

Strong Excel skills, including formulas and large data sets

ERP experience (NetSuite desirable)

Understanding of sales ledger, credit control, cash allocation and reconciliations
