The Role

As Head Chef, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the kitchen, ensuring residents receive nutritious, high-quality meals tailored to their individual dietary needs. You'll lead, inspire, and develop your team while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the kitchen and catering team.
  • Plan and prepare fresh, nutritious, and diet-specific meals for residents.
  • Create varied, seasonal menus that cater to individual dietary and nutritional requirements.
  • Manage stock ordering, inventory, and food costs effectively.
  • Ensure full compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety, and all relevant regulations.
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and develop kitchen team members.
  • Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, food presentation, and kitchen organisation.
  • Work within agreed budgets while delivering a high-quality dining experience.

About You

  • Has previous experience as a Head Chef or an experienced Sous Chef ready to step into a leadership role.
  • Has strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Is passionate about producing fresh, high-quality food.
  • Has experience catering for a variety of dietary and nutritional requirements.
  • Has excellent organisational and stock management skills.
  • Holds a Food Hygiene qualification and has a sound understanding of food safety legislation.
  • Is committed to delivering an exceptional dining experience for residents.
