Groundworkers / Drainage Operatives - Wigan

About the Role

We are currently recruiting experienced Groundworkers / Drainage Operatives for long-term work based in Wigan. This role involves working as part of an established gang carrying out drainage, sewer, and civil engineering works on a major project.

If you have a strong background in drainage and sewer installation and hold a valid Confined Spaces certificate, we'd like to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out drainage and sewer installation, repairs, and maintenance.
• Install pipes, manholes, chambers, and associated drainage infrastructure.
• Work safely in confined spaces following site procedures.
• Operate as part of a drainage gang to complete works efficiently.
• Read and work from drawings and site plans.
• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment.
• Follow all health and safety procedures on site.

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience in drainage and sewer works.
• Confined Spaces certificate (essential).
• Experience working as part of a gang.
• Valid CSCS Card.
• Good understanding of health and safety on civil engineering sites.
• Reliable, hard-working, and able to work as part of a team.

Preferred

• Forward Tipping Dumper ticket (preferred).
• Experience on civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
