The Role
Reporting into the Finance team, you will take ownership of the payroll function, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while leading and developing the payroll team.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage the end to end processing of weekly and monthly payrolls for more than 850 employees
* Lead, support and develop the Payroll team
* Oversee CIS payroll for subcontractors, ensuring accurate verification, deductions and HMRC submissions
* Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation, HMRC requirements and CIS regulations
* Manage statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP and SAP
* Maintain and improve payroll systems, working closely with software providers to resolve issues and implement enhancements
* Drive continuous improvement by streamlining payroll processes and improving efficiency
* Work closely with the Finance team on payroll reconciliations, reporting, cost analysis and audit requirements
* Produce accurate payroll reports and provide payroll advice to stakeholders across the business

About You
* Previous experience managing high volume, multi frequency payrolls
* Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, HMRC regulations and the CIS scheme
* CIPP qualified or working towards a qualification
* Experience leading or supervising a payroll team
* Strong Excel skills and experience using payroll software and integrated HR and finance systems
* Organised, accurate and confident working to deadlines
