Management Accountant
Our client is a successful business in Leeds are looking for driven and ambitious Management Accountant to join their finance team on a permenant basis and play a key role in delivering high-quality financial reporting, commercial insight and financial control across the organisation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified or qualified accountant looking to develop their career within a complex, fast-paced environment gaining exposure to international requirements.
The Role
You will take ownership of the monthly management accounts process, support group reporting requirements, and provide valuable commercial analysis to help drive business performance. You will also lead and develop a small finance team, ensuring high standards of accuracy, efficiency and control.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the month-end close process and deliver accurate monthly management accounts, including P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reporting.
- Produce meaningful variance analysis and commercial commentary against budget and prior year performance.
- Prepare monthly group reporting submissions and support consolidation requirements.
- Manage and reconcile intercompany balances across multiple entities, ensuring reporting accuracy.
- Partner with operational stakeholders to analyse margins, profitability and business performance.
- Drive cost control initiatives, identify efficiencies and provide financial insight to support decision-making.
- Take ownership of stock accounting, including valuations, reconciliations and movement analysis.
- Support financial compliance through VAT reviews, audit activities and process improvements.
- Maintain and enhance financial controls, systems and reporting processes across the finance function.
- Lead, mentor and develop a small finance team, ensuring high standards of accuracy and performance.
About You
We are looking for an individual who combines strong technical accounting skills with a commercial mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements
- Part-qualified or fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
- Previous experience producing management accounts.
- Experience within a multi-entity or group reporting environment.
- Strong Excel and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
