Job Title: 3x Groundworkers (National Grid Substation Projects)
Site Name: Necton 400kV Substation
Location: Necton, Swaffham, Norfolk, PE37 8EG.
Start Date: 15/6/2026
Duration: 6 months+
Pay Rate: £30/hour
Pay Type: CIS

We are currently recruiting for 3 experienced Groundworkers to support ongoing works on National Grid infrastructure projects.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy site team working on major energy and transmission projects, with further opportunities available for the right candidates.

Essential Requirements:

• National Grid Persons
• HSG47 CAT1 & CAT2 (2-Day Course)
• Previous experience working on utility, civils, substation, or infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of safe excavation and underground service avoidance procedures

Duties Will Include:

• Using CAT & Genny equipment to locate and mark underground services
• Installing ducts and ducting systems
• Installing draw pits and rodding eyes
• Carrying out concrete remedial works
• Laying and levelling chippings
• Placing and levelling Type 3 stone
• Supporting general civils and groundworks activities as required
• Working safely in accordance with site procedures and National Grid standards

Desirable Competencies (Not Essential):

• Dumper
• Roller
• Banksman / Vehicle Marshal
• Slinger Signaller
• Telehandler
• 360 Excavator
• Confined Space
• Any additional National Grid or utility sector certifications

Candidates must be reliable, safety-conscious, and capable of working effectively as part of a busy site team.
