The Commercial Operations Manager role is a new position developed to manage the Commercial Operations Team for the delivery of excellent client service, and will take responsibility for the operational and financial efficiency of the operation, whilst ensuring the relevant regulatory and technical standards are met.
The Commercial Operations Team have specific responsibility for the placement of Commercial business on behalf of the sales and service teams across the branches as well as managing post placement activities. You will manage the interface between the sales and service branches ensuring that the interfaces are efficient and support the highest possible levels of service.
Responsibilities:
· Acting as an integral part of the service delivery organisation, ensuring delivery of operational services in line with service delivery, compliance standards and budgets
· Improve the operational effectiveness, processes and policies in support of organization goals - specifically, support better management reporting, information flow and management, business process and organizational planning
· Drive ongoing efficiency and effectiveness of the Commercial Operations Team to ensure year on year delivery of marginal cost reduction and service delivery improvements
· Lead or participate in change initiatives where appropriate to improve performance and cost effectiveness
· Build and manage relationships within peer group, both internally and externally, to align perceived and actual levels of service to all Clients
Skills / Qualifications Skills & Experience
· Experience running an Operations team or Project team within an Insurance Broker is essential
· Experience of the Commercial Insurance market would be an advantage
· Proven experience of change management and delivering change initiatives in to an Operational function
· Knowledge of operational best practice and experience of implementing processes, procedures and standards in an operational role
· Good management skills, with a proven track record of delivering excellent levels of client service
· Excellent people management skills, able to coach, motivate and inspire others to embrace change
· High levels of business and financial acumen with an understanding of company strategy, operating environment and business objectives
· Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
· An understanding of Lean servicing principles
· Strong skills in problem solving, planning and budgeting
