Tribunal Clerk - Long term Temp
Home based/Manchester City Centre
£14.27 per hour - Brilliant Opportunities available within an interesting and varied role!The roles would suit someone with excellent drafting and interpersonal skills along with very strong admin and IT skills.

The idea candidate should be able to provide high level administrative support to tribunals and interim orders tribunals, including by acting as a tribunal clerk in hearings.



Main responsibilities of the job

Your responsibilities will include some or all of the following:


1. Acting as a tribunal clerk to tribunals and interim orders tribunals as required, including:

a. providing procedural guidance to the tribunal;

b. preparing draft determinations for the tribunal; and

c. providing general administrative support.

2 Co-ordinating pre-hearing activities, including preparing and distributing
documentation, communicating with interested parties and dealing with internal and external enquiries.

3 Co-ordinating hearing and review on papers follow-up actions, including producing records of determinations, implementing decisions , updating core information systems with activities and providing transcripts from digital recordings.

4 Supporting the effective re-scheduling of cases for part-heard hearings. This will include engaging with the Case Management team and liaising effectively with parties.

5 Supporting the induction and training of new staff, working with Tribunals


Technical knowledge and skills

a The post holder must be able to demonstrate understanding of and an ability to interpret and apply statutes and regulations within a legal, regulatory or similar environment.

b An ability to understand legal and procedural documents, including ethical principles, is essential.

c Experience of working with and supporting committees, panels or tribunals.


d The post holder will be competent in Information Systems and in particular be able to work with databases, as much of the work and recording of information is based around IT systems.

e The ability to maintain confidentiality, despite media or other pressure to disclose information about cases is essential.




The post holder must have excellent drafting skills, including the ability to draft determinations to deadlines whilst ensuring the output is clear (plain English), concise and accurate.


The role will require constant interaction with a range of individuals including tribunal members, legal representatives and senior staff.
This will require a professional and appropriate style.
