Transport Shift Manager

£24,000 - £26,000


Monday - Friday, Rotating Shifts (6am - 3pm / 10:30 - 7:30pm)

Key Responsibilities

  • Route planning day 1 for 2 for trunking and multi-drop loads
  • Manual route planning across a fleet of Artics and Rigids
  • Manage the briefing and de-briefing of all staff
  • To ensure the correct resource is in place to achieve agreed customer KPI's
  • To manage drivers working time
  • To manage driver's holidays/sickness and absence
  • Investigate all accidents and incidents within the department
  • Ensure compliance of all company polices
  • Support and mentor all staff
  • Ensures any non-compliance is reported to the Transport Operations Manager
  • Ensure the safe delivery of products and the administration of paperwork to a high quality standard.
  • Liaise with drivers, maintenance and breakdown recovery companies in relation to vehicle breakdowns
  • To ensure vehicle checks are carried out on a daily basis

Skills & Experience

  • Transport route planning experience
  • General haulage or Pallet network experience
  • CPC - National (desirable)
  • Transport supervisor / management experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Can work in a high pressure faced paced environment
  • Experience working in transport
  • Logical way of thinking
  • Hands on and leads from the front
  • Computer literate
  • Drivers hours and regulations knowledge
  • Compliant and accurate
  • High standards of productivity
  • Working to achieve and over achieve goals
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem solver
