Transport Planner - Paragon Planner

£13.00 - £17.00 per hour

Duties & Responsibilities:-

  • Optimisation of subcontractor management to ensure maximisation of margin
  • Be able to balance conflicting priorities
  • Ensure KPIs are met by planning effectively
  • Responsible for the data analysis and the production of reports for warehouse objectives
  • Responsible for drivers' annual leave, work rotas and wages
  • Ensure that all training related to health and safety is adhered to and any concerns regarding health and safety are reported to relevant parties
  • Maintain daily administrative duties in line with transport requirements
  • Maintain ongoing training for all drivers and identify CPC need
  • Effectively manage Plan verses Actual analysis
  • Produce monthly reports to assist the transport department
  • Maintain effective customer service requirements
  • Effectively manage the balance of service and cost, while maintaining legal compliance
  • Maintain Paragon housekeeping on a monthly basis or as required
  • Maintenance of confidentiality of information in compliance with General Data Protection
  • Regulation (GDPR) including the development and maintenance of information management and record-keeping systems related to areas of responsibility
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal systems and practices
  • Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required for the effective operation of the transport department, which includes multi-skilling in order to support other members of the team

Required Skills:-

  • Paragon route planning experience (essential)
  • A Logistics Distribution and transport route planning background
  • Have a working knowledge of UK geography
  • Transport Planning experience (essential)
  • Previous experience of working within a faced paced transport / logistics department
  • Proven experience within the Pharmaceutical, FMCG industry is desirable but not essential
  • A positive 'can-do' attitude Ability to evaluate processes and understand where change can improve efficiency within a distribution and route planning set up
  • You should have excellent inter personal skills be able to communicate at all levels professionally and discreetly
