New build housing sites are cropping up all over the country right now. It's easy just to see the bricks and mortar but there is a lot that goes into completing even a single unit. Before a large site can even get going there will be site investigations, structural and civil services, topographical, environmental investigations and dilapidation surveys, flooding reports and transportation assessments, etc… All of this, and more, needs to be coordinated and the person responsible for that is the Engineering / Technical Manager.

Due to internal promotion, one of our clients is looking to bring somebody into the role at there offices in Chesterfield. The role will suit somebody with extensive experience of housebuilding who has strong design and planning expertise as well as excellent technical knowledge. The successful applicant will also have a strong understanding of:
* Specific design and specification features with regards to road and sewer agreements
* Utility companies, procedures, license and legislating framework
* All CAD and other software packages, cost accounting and data management systems
* CDM Regulations, LABC/NHBC requirements and Codes of Practice (e.g., Code for Sustainable Homes)

Reporting to the Technical Director, the main purpose of the role will be to manage technical and site infrastructure matters from planning approval through to construction and final estate adoption/closure. This is to be achieved by providing best value solutions with regards to the coordination and delivery of all engineering and utility design details/information to be in line with planning approval, building regulations, budget and build programme requirements.
