Wave leader required for a summer government led programme in Chelmsford.

As a wave leader you will be accaounable for up to 15 seasonal employees and up to 98 young participants, with a core focus on ensuring the programme is ran smoothly and successfully.

You will also be the main point of contact on the day to day basis for all season employees, offering support and guidance to ensuring the smooth running of the programme. This includes holding staff register to check attendance, leading team meetings daily to ensure staff rota and break periods are communicated and in line with the required rations, setting clear agendas for the day and communicating any important information regarding the programme delivery as soon as this is provided. You will act as an escalation point for all Team Leaders and Team Mentor concern and manage any safeguarding, data protection, or health and safety incidents in line with the set procedures.

Wave leaders are also accountable for ensuring that all compliance procedures are accurately completed by the Team Leader which included key activities suck as participants registrations, social action project reporting and monitoring young person attendance.

You will also be required to conduct formal quality assurance observations of workshop sessions or task delivery to ensure a consistent high standard throughout the programme.

The programme is made out of 3 phases with phase 1 and 2 being residential over night phases which require camping, and phase 3 being a local community phase.

The programme is set up to last 3 weeks for each wave.

The ideal candidate will have some kind of experience in either of these sectors:

  • customer representative
  • retail
  • customer service
  • teaching
  • health care

You would also need to have right attitude for the role as well as great team building and team leading skills and experience in a supervisory role, or previous summer scheme.

This would be an ideal role for university students as well as teachers and teaching assistants looking to earn extra money during summer holidays.

You must be able to pass an enhanced DBS check as well as provide 3 years worth of referencing.
