This is a permanent opportunity paying up to £24,000 per annum
Search Scientific consultancy is a recruitment partner to an international contract testing laboratory based in Manchester. In this role you will be managing a team who are responsible for analysing samples using wet chemistry techniques and GC-MS
Efficiently organise and manage the team to ensure that all samples are analysed to a high standard by suitably trained staff within a time limit appropriate to the client expectations.
Developing and contributing towards operational efficiency.
Optimising service delivery, in line with service line agreements and key performance indicators.
Carrying out analysis using techniques such as GC-MA as required and maintains a high level of technical competence.
Maintaining the quality system in line with ISO 17025.
Leading, coordinating, training and developing a team of analysts to undertake the preparation and analysis of samples, for the determination of organic chemistry components.
Ensure that all staff is properly trained to perform the tasks given to them and keep the Contaminants Manager informed of the progress/performance of all staff.
Degree in Science discipline
Previous experience in using GC-MS techniques in a commercial lab environment is essential
Understanding of ISO, UKAS, audit procedures and methods.
Excellent understanding wet chemistry techniques and experience in working within a UKAS accredited laboratory
Previous experience in team management is desired but not essential
