Role: Support Workers (Children & Young People)
Salary: £17,549 - £25,424 (Dependant on experience)
Location: Perth

Search Consultancy is working with our client in Perth who is looking for Support Workers to join their team in a residential service for vulnerable children and young people on a permanent full time basis.

What do we mean by Support Workers? This is as basic from 'just being there' for the young people, to supporting their development in whatever role that takes - doing their cooking, cleaning, doing activities with them, assisting them in their health needs to promoting their independence, to working with them on their family time.

The very essence of this role is the safety of the young person - physically, emotionally and their basic safety.

There are 5 residential services so flexibility is required and driving licence and access to own care is essential. The service is 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, and as such the working pattern is planned to have the least impact on the young person in your care. These are 16hr shifts 7.30am - 11.30pm, with waking nights/sleep overs included on a rotational basis.

This is a permanent 39hr per week contract.

If you have experience working in a care setting then we want to hear from you.

Never underestimate the role of a Support Worker takes - you will provide the highest standards of respect, support and care; overall, ensuring the dignity of the young person is maintained at all times. You need to be a good team player, communicator, listener, to be focused, dedicated and reliable.

You will be approachable, respectful and will have the personality to deal with different personalities and resilience to deal with challenging behaviours.

An SVQ3 in Social Services (Children & Young People) SCQF Level 7 and HNC in Social Services are preferable.

Whilst we are keen to speak to people with experience in the above, we also will take applications for people with the right values and genuine passion for care in this sector!

Please get in touch today to set up an interview! Take your career to the next level. (Agy)

Search is an equal opportunities recruiter and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified applicants, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age.
