West Yorkshire, England
Over the last couple of years, Yorkshire has been relatively quiet in terms of infrastructure development but since just before lockdown we've started to see a good number of schemes open up throughout the county. We are working with the civil engineering contractor that is likely to be busiest around here over the next few years and they have highlighted a number of vacancies that they are going to have to fill if they're going to successfully deliver on their commitments. The office location for these roles will be Leeds, the initial scheme will be in Leeds and all future schemes will be in the North East region (Northumberland to Notts).
The first available roles are for 2x Sub Agents and we are looking for candidates with drive to be the best they can be. You should be qualified to degree level as a minimum and have experience of working for a main contractor on highway infrastructure schemes, ideally with specific reference to the construction and rehabilitation of structures. In terms of duties and responsibilities you will be required to assist the Site Agent in their day-to-day duties, ensure that the teams are working safely, monitor works against programme, liaise with the QS in terms of cost/budget, compile site reports, as well as any other duties that may be required from time to time. It will also be your responsibility to supervise and act as a mentor to the more junior members of the team.
To be considered for the role you should hold the relevant academic qualification mentioned above and have demonstrable and current experience within civil engineering as a Senior Engineer or Sub Agent. Ideally you will have gained that experience working for a Tier 1 contractor.
