Search Consultancy is working with a specialist Further Education provider to recruit locum Speech and Language Therapists for their college in Cheshire.

The college is a non-residential specialist and caters for the needs of students aged up to 25 who have learning difficulties and disabilities, complex needs, autism and communication disorders.

The role:

  • Making appropriate clinical decisions following assessment
  • Developing clear care plans based on best practice
  • Communicating assessment care plans and prognosis to clients, carers, families and members of the multi-disciplinary team/other professionals or agencies
  • Working with teaching assistants, teachers, families and carers to achieve outcomes for individual clients, providing support, programs, ideas, advice and assessment
  • Maintaining up to date and accurate case notes and writing reports
  • Responsible for the security, care and maintenance of equipment ensuring standards of infection control and safety are maintained

You:

  • Recognised qualification in Speech & Language Therapy
  • HCPC (Health Care Professional Council) registered
  • Excellent communication and relationship skills
  • Ideally dysphasia trained
  • Ability to demonstrate empathy
  • Up to date with new techniques and developments for the promotion and maintenance of good practice in speech and language therapy in clinics and schools
  • Analytical and judgmental skills
  • Planning and organisational skills to manage and prioritise a defined caseload and workload
