£16/£16.50 per hour based on Experience

Search are looking for an Enthusiastic and caring Speech & Language Therapist to provide a highly specialist Speech & Language Therapy Service to clients with Autistic Spectrum Conditions, learning difficulties, complex communication disorders and challenging behaviour. The role involves working autonomously across services including residential, supported living, shared care, outreach and education. Typical roles include:

* To efficiently manage the speech and language therapy service provision across the service - within School, Residential Homes, Supported Living Tenancies and the Outreach Service.
* To provide a speech and language therapy service to young people and adults with complex speech and language needs related to their autistic spectrum condition and challenging behaviour.

* To provide advice, training and support to staff, parents and other professionals.


Qualifications/Experience Needed:

*Degree or diploma in Speech and Language Therapy.
*Registered member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists and HCPC registered.
*Proven experience of working with children and/or adults with special needs including those with autistic spectrum conditions.


Abilities:

*Ability to assess complex speech and language needs.
*Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
*Ability to function independently and to be innovative and self-motivated.
*Ability to communicate effectively with service users and their families, colleagues and professionals in other organisations, using good written and verbal communication skills.
*Ability to offer training to parents, staff and community groups.
