Having gained approval last year, the new ferry terminal linking Liverpool and the Isle of Man is in its construction phase. One of our main contractor clients has secured a package of works including highway redevelopment around the area and other civils works.
It is important that the contractor has strong management on site and to facilitate this they are looking to employ an experienced Site Agent. The role will be to take an overview of the works on site, ensure adherence to time and budgetary constraints, manage health and safety, liaise with the client and other contractor reps, and report effectively back to the office. Once the incumbent has this under control there will also be a requirement to get involved with design management.
Given the requirements of the role we're looking for a Site Agent with an excellent technical background. Degree qualified and chartered (or approaching chartership) in a civils discipline you should be able to demonstrate a progressive career working yourself up from Engineer to Agent.
Personally, as well as having your technical prowess, you will also be seen as an effective communicator on site with the confidence to approach and engage with whomever it requires to get the job done as efficiently as possible.
