WANTED: Skilled Senior Security Architect
Location: Havant or Reading
Salary: up to £85,000 DOE depending on skills and experience + bonus
Permanent: Full Time Hours with flexible working patterns available
As a skilled Security Architect, you'll operate as a security expert in development, application, database design, network and/or platform efforts, ensuring project teams comply with internal policies, best practice and industry regulations. You'll develop the business, information and technical artefacts that constitute the enterprise information security architect & solutions.
For best practice, you'll work collaboratively with our experienced enterprise architects, other functional areas & security specialists to ensure adequate security solutions are in place throughout all IT systems and platforms, to sufficiently mitigate identified risks & meet business goals & regulatory requirements.
Additionally, you'll be responsible for: researching, designing and advocating new technologies, contributing to the alignment of security governance with EA governance & project & portfolio management (PPM); architecture, security products, evaluating/developing secure solutions that are based on approved security architectures & business need; communicating security risks and solutions to business partners & IT colleagues.
Skills and Experience
As a skilled Security Architect, you'll have had formal training & experience in a relevant enterprise architecture methodology (e.g. Zachman Framework or TOGAF) & you'll need to have a relevant professional security management certificate e.g. CISSP, CISM, CISA or similar.
You'll also need to have proven combined IT & security work experience, with a broad exposure to infrastructure/network & multiplatform environments. You'll demonstrate in-depth knowledge of risk assessment methods & technologies & proficiency in performing risk, business impact, control & vulnerability assessments.
As the expert/ technical lead in this role, you'll be required to take on project management or operate as a SME in your field when required. You'll also be comfortable interacting with employees at all levels of the organisation & when engaging with external vendors.
As a bonus, you'll also have: Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or similar field or suitably qualified by experience; an understanding of the energy / utilities sector & the risks/threats to our industry, control systems, smart grid & metering, network, consumer technologies & customer data; expert knowledge of security-specific architecture methodology (e.g. SABSA) & of security issues, techniques and implications across all existing computer platforms; strong analytical skills, business insight, technical acuity & the ability to think, communicate and write at various level of abstraction.
