Senior upstream process Scientist

This is a permanent opportunity paying up to £45, 000 per annum with added benefits such as 15% bonus, 36 days holiday allowance and potential for relocation package

Search Scientific consultancy is a recruitment partner to an international Biopharmaceutical testing laboratory based in Liverpool.

In this role you will be performing the analytics associated with the upstream processing, method optimisation and method transfer.

Responsibilities:

Act as the technical lead for project activity and the associated daily planning of the activities

Leading the transfer and execution of projects from process development into the production (cleanroom) facility at pilot and clinical scale

Responsible for cGMP activities to produce clinical drug substance

Review internal and external process and facility validation reports

Collaborate with other senior scientists to ensure projects are delivered on timely manner and assign work accordingly.

Writing protocols, analysing data and authoring reports and reviewing protocols, experimental workbooks, and reports written by other team members and/or authoring, reviewing and approving manufacturing instructions for the cGMP manufacture of batches for non-clinical and clinical use.

Qualifications:

Essential

  • Degree in Science or equivalent
  • Previous experience in Bio reactor optimization and Bio reactor design
  • Previous experience in scale up and upstream processing
  • Previous experience in using cell based assays
  • Experience in working according GMP guidelines.

Desirable

  • PhD in Biological Sciences
  • Experience associated with Gene therapy
  • Previous leadership experience is desirable
