A Partner Led and highly reputable Consultancy based in Kent, currently seeks an experienced Scheme Actuary to join their established and successful team. My client put people and solutions at the heart of their Pensions Business. They make the complex world of Pensions clear and accessible to members, trustees and employers

Skills and experience:

  • At least five years as a Scheme Actuary
  • Experience of working with a range of defined benefit pension scheme trustees
  • Broad knowledge of relevant legislation and governance frameworks
  • Excellent communication skills, with ability to express complicated ideas in a concise and clear way
  • Self-motivation and ability to work autonomously, in line with the responsibilities that the role requires
  • Ability to contribute to good practice and foster the development of junior team members
  • Help develop the infrastructure of the actuarial team
  • Possess strong Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills and
  • Be an analytical thinker with good problem-solving skills

Responsibilities:

You will make an active contribution to team goals, develop your skills and broaden your experience. You will be responsible for

  • Being a Scheme Actuary for a range of defined benefit clients
  • Attending meetings with established clients and new prospects
  • Scoping pragmatic solutions to meet our clients' requirements
  • Developing and supporting the delivery of our actuarial services
  • Assisting with a variety of internal task and finish groups to help develop services and the firm's infrastructure
  • Developing and maintaining a network of professional contacts
  • Assisting your colleagues to obtain new clients
  • Expanding your knowledge and staying up to date on pension issues
  • Developing junior staff
