Quantity Surveyor - Edinburgh
QS to work on FM projects where required. They will work closely with operational colleagues in the Technical Services Project team to support accurate Applications are processed in a timely fashion, and all existing correct commercial controls are followed to minimise risk to the business.
Duties will include
◾Submitting detailed and timely Applications for Payment and invoicing
◾Measuring / valuing works using schedule of rates including fabric reactive, minor and projects works both pre-measure and final accounts.
◾Proactive management of WIP in conjunction with administrator and operational managers.
◾Production of Project works quotations with the nominated project manager utilising agreed SOR's.
◾Supporting Project Managers in completing tenders for internal and external clients.
◾Identifying, reviewing and detailing variations, the preparation and submission of detailed prices including supporting documentation for agreement.
◾Forecasting estimated value, cost and margin on WIP on a monthly basis, reconciling any movements in the month by exception, and reporting on any variances from the tender allowances.
◾Reporting by exception of any matter or event that is likely to affect the forecast outturn of a project.
◾Having familiarity and an understanding of the particular conditions of contract relating to any project ensuring the Businesses rights are preserved and entitlement is safeguarded where practicable.
◾Processing Subcontract Orders in accordance with agreed business thresholds, valuing the work undertaken by Subcontractors and issuing the appropriate Notices and processing payments as necessary.
◾Responsible for the collation, interpretation and disseminating of information to relevant parts of the business reporting on WIP and aged debt.
◾Liaise with the client's representative to achieve seamless payment processes.
The successful candidate
◾Degree Qualified Surveyor or Suitable industry experience.
◾2-3 years' experience in working on SOR contracts utilising PSA and or NSR rates.
◾Good PC skills, including advanced Excel are essential for this position.
◾Good analytical skills.
◾Good communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
◾Personal and professional credibility.
◾Good influencing skills.
◾Full clean driving licence.
