PURCHASE LEDGER ASSISTANT - TEMPORARY - £22-24K PER ANNUM

Search Consultancy are recruiting or a market leading candidate based in Govan who are recruiting for a Purchase Ledger Assistant. The role itself will involve working as part of a team to process high value and high volume invoices on a daily basis. Your main responsibilities will be To post all supplier invoices to the ledger on their accounting software, ensuring they are coded to the correct nominal ledger code and supplier account.

The ideal candidate would have a couple of years experience working in a busy finance team where it is essential you have a good eye for detail and a good work ethic. Knowledge of basic accounting systems and experience working in a construction background is advantageous but not mandatory for this position.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Processing supplier invoices against Purchase Orders
  • Posting purchase ledger invoices and credit notes on the ledger and keying costs to the P&L
  • Liaising with external suppliers and internal depts
  • Preparation of payment runs to suppliers
  • Maintenance of supplier bank details
  • Allocating payments to suppliers on Purchase Ledger
  • Month end statement reconciliations
  • Preparation of month end accruals required
  • Assisting with any other adhoc and administrative duties specified by Line Manager

Type of candidate

  • Previous experience in a PL or bookkeeper role required
  • Understanding of basic purchase ledger processes required
  • Must be eager to learn and able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be proactive and able to show initiative
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics or Business Consultant beneficial but not a requirement
  • Experience working with Microsoft software
  • Strong communication and organisation skills
