Project Manager

Search are proud to be working with a growing company on the recruitment of a Project Manager based in Newcastle. You will ensure all projects are delivered on time to client expectations within the prescribed quality, cost and time restraints. This is a full time permanent role based in Newcastle.

Responsibilities

  • Hold / attend hand-over meetings of new projects initiated at the start of each new order to ensure clear understanding by all staff of the requirements necessary to complete the project within the estimated cost and time constraints to the complete satisfaction of the customer. Request a meeting with Sales and Accounts before receipt of the sales release. Handovers meetings with production should also be attended, if required.
  • Check that all pertinent information has been collected on the contract and that the handover sheet has been completed to your satisfaction.
  • Ensure a full works order is compiled including material requisition based on the details of the clients order and the information in the sales release. There should be sufficient information included to ensure that design; procurement, fabrication and fixing processes are carried out in accordance with the project requirements.
  • Maintain the file management with comprehensive and accurate information on each hard and electronic copy file.
  • Cost Management: Ensure works are completed within budget and maximising profit.
  • Carry out regular checks of fabrication progress of your project to ensure that this is as per the client's requirements.
  • Raise orders for access equipment and any specialist equipment. Taking the lead with the Commercial Department in placing orders for sub-contract parts and track progress / delivery.
  • Prepare and issue to client and relevant installation staff, full Risk Assessment and Method Statement documents, based on information received from site survey. Prepare and issue to client an Operation and Maintenance Manual once the project is complete. Liaise with Health and Safety Manager for advice.
  • Liaise with Installation Manager and Health and Safety Manager on requirements for access equipment / installation sub-contractors and any electrical requirements.

Competencies

  • Numerate and Literate
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Email
  • Good communication skills with clients, contractors, colleagues, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Commercial awareness
  • Knowledge of sign manufacturing materials / techniques.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings
  • Ability to extract relevant information from data provided
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • Ability to program and organise national signage rollouts
