Production Manager

£50,000 - £55,000


Mon - Fri 8:00- 17:00 (flexibility required)

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing a production operation of 10+ operatives
  • Managing a number of direct reports including supervisors and team leaders
  • Improve quality for the end users by focusing on continuous improvement
  • Manage and maintain an efficient production operation
  • Keeping a handle on both output and costs ensure that Agency colleagues are kept to a minimum, whilst ensuring all customer orders are met
  • Management and control of all costs associated with the production
  • Ensure smooth running of all functions within the production
  • Manage and motivate employees effectively
  • Report on production performance according to company requirements
  • Communicate company strategy and policies positively and effectively to all production staff
  • Report defective machinery within the production promptly
  • Monitor and progress all production related activities within the production
  • Identify the training needs of all the production colleagues and ensure that those training requirements are met
  • Work collectively with the Company's Management and Directors to ensure an efficient and hygienic production facility
  • Ensure that the grading of all product is 100% accurate at all times
  • Ensure that all colleagues understand and are trained in the whole production processes to ensure maximum optimisation of produce
  • Ensure that Health & Safety working practices are adhered to
  • Ensuring that site standards and maintained and play a key role in site visits / audits

Skills required:

  • Knowledge of risk assessments
  • Previous production managerial experience of 10+ operatives
  • Experience within the FMCG sector
  • Excellent man management skills
  • The ability to be flexible to support business needs
  • A demonstrable passion for Continuous Improvement.
  • Leadership and communication style which is motivating and engaging to individuals and teams
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong organisational skills
