Production Engineer required for a brilliant, expanding company based in Glasgow. You'll need to be motivated, understanding and personable with an excellent engineering mind set to be successful in this role.

About the Job

As Production Engineer, you'll be working alongside production staff - developing, installing
and procuring equipment when required. You'll be very much involved in the overall well
being of your team and be the 'go-to' person for technical knowledge, engineering advice
and a sounding board for how the team is doing.
The company manufactures electronics for use within industrial, marine & commercial industries.

As part of this job, you'll be;

* Designing , implementing and controlling all processes in the assembly/manufacture of products
* Specify, procure, install and oversee factory equipment and machinery used in the production process.
* Create update and maintain BOMs, routings, engineering changes and product configuration.
* Document control and product assembly manuals.
* Identify and apply engineering solutions relating to production issues, new processes and technology.
* Give both training and technical support on current and new machines and processes.
* Analysis of data and the production of graphs and progress charts
* Meeting production and project deadlines
* Ensure training and re-training of all department personnel is carried out so that the team are fully able to meet their job requirements. This includes knowledge and understanding of work instructions, assembly manuals and other control documents.
In conjunction with the Factory Manager you'll be carrying out employee appraisals, absence management, performance and disciplinary matters as required.

About You

You should be a natural people person and be approachable as such. The Production Engineers main role is to ensure the best and continuous production of the products the company is making, however, it is imperative that you understand that a collaborative approach, making best use of the people in your team and their various skills, is absolutely the best way to be successful in this role. There may well be promotional opportunities that become available in this role as the company takes a great interest in the people within - this role is open as a result of an internal move.

You should be educated in an engineering discipline (HNC plus), have excellent planning and prioritising abilities, knowledge of lean/CI techniques & be able to lead and motivate a team of people. As part of the role, you'll need an understanding of Microsoft office packages and Outlook email.
