Payroll Supervisor // Sale // Permanent // £30-33,000 DOE

We are currently working with a very successful business in South Manchester as they look to appoint a new Payroll Supervisor.

Reporting into the Payroll Manager, this role will be 'hands on' working on a very busy payroll, supervising a small team and dealing with any escalations. The role requires a strong leader, leading by example by providing an excellent service and who is able to motivate and inspire the team along with the payroll manger.

The role is hybrid home/office working which will potentially continue moving forward and the company over a wide range of excellent benefits.

Duties include but aren't limited to:

  • Input and management of payroll data
  • Ensuring accurate and timely payments to contractors
  • Processing expenses
  • Producing reports
  • Checking payroll prior to management approval
  • Liaise with finance team and other departments, sharing costing and other information
  • Manage specialised and self bill payroll
  • Deal with third party payments and court orders
  • Resolve queries
  • Process BACS and faster payments
  • Supervise and support a small team
  • Assist with training and deputise for Manager when required
  • Assist with projects such as process improvement

Experience required:

  • Minimum three years payroll experience in fast paced , high volume setting
  • Experience in a senior position within a team, dealing with escalations and supervision
  • Excellent knowledge of current payroll legislation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good excel and reporting skills
  • Understanding of PAYE and Ltd Co & Umbrella contractors
  • Excellent level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Problem solver with keen eye for detail
