Network Engineer

One of the UK's leading telecoms and cloud-services providers are currently looking to bring a Network Engineer in to work with their team in their newly refurbished, modern office on the outskirts of Manchester City Centre.

This is a business that truly believes in the ability of technology to change business for the better, and they pride themselves on providing forward-facing cloud technology that allows their businesses to better complete global expansions and multi-site networks.

What will I be doing?

You'll be working to maintain the design and integrity of core, transit and access networks for a number of key, large clients of the organisation.

You'll collaborate directly with the Operations teams within the business, ensuring they have the tools and support that is necessary for them to manage top-level performance of the network.

Am I the sort of person they're looking for?

If you're ready to make your mark on a business and climb up through the ranks, then you absolutely are. They want someone who can make a real impact and make a name for themselves, reaping the rewards of their hard work and building a real career for themselves at the company.

If you can bring flexibility to your approach, and the ability to take feedback on board and try different methods, then that's a point in your favour also. You'll be working closely with various levels of colleagues, each with advice that could be useful to you, so being able to adapt your style of working will be very important.

Your superb communication skills will go down a treat as well. As mentioned, you'll be working with all manner of stakeholder within and without the business, so the ability to make complicated things seem simple to the layman is something that is paramount for this role.

This all sounds very good, any particular experience I need?

Of course, you'll need:
* At least 2 years of working in networking environments
* Cisco/Juniper hardware experience
* Knowledge of routing protocols - BGP, OSPF, MPLS, ISIS
* Plenty of experience with keeping detailed and up-to-date documentation

What are they looking to pay for this role?

Well, they do offer a range of benefits alongside their salary - but you can expect to receive up to £30,000 per annum for your efforts.

The benefits package includes healthcare, company sick pay, the day off for your birthday, free 24 hour parking, flexible working options, enhanced maternity and paternity packages - the list goes on!

Excellent, what now?

Well, now I need your CV to take a look at. If you have that ready, click apply and I'll give that immediate consideration.

If you don't have your CV ready just now, don't fret. Email me at or give me a ring on 0161 835 8790 and let me know it's of interest in the first instance, and then get working on updating that CV!

Search is an equal opportunities recruiter and we welcome applications from all suitably skilled or qualified applicants, regardless of their race, sex, disability, religion/beliefs, sexual orientation or age.
