National Training Manager - Leicestershire with Travel - £45K - £55K + car/allowance + bonus

Our national client, a leading name in their sector, are looking for an experienced and operationally aligned Training Manager to join them in a newly re-scoped national role to lead of all training and development activities across a business over c1,000 covering around 20 UK sites.

Operating from a Leicestershire head office base location and reporting through to the operations senior leadership team, and ultimately the MD, you will help to review, design, deliver and evaluate operational training for the entire organisation. There will be a big emphasis on an overhaul of the induction program with a key remit to help tackle high attrition rates.

With a large population of warehouse and driving staff, it's been identified that attrition is at its highest with lower salaried roles within their first 12 months of employment. This role will focus on creating and implementing interventions for staff across the demographic to ensure staff are properly inducted, trained and have access to ongoing development to help retain people and foster longer term succession plans.

In addition your remit will also be to review the current set training package to staff, some of which is regulatory, to ensure obligations are being met at key milestones. Your role will include a mixture of design and delivery which could be face to face, online or classroom based. There will also be elements of 'train the trainer' to ensure that managers in particular are able to continue development locally with staff. More emphasis is being placed too on customer service and as such it's anticipated you'll support with ongoing behavioural and soft skill training to the staff to ensure customer interactions are at the forefront of the service they offer.

Although a strategic management role, and one which will be quite autonomous, it is expected that you'll be very hands on in the role, however will also have a great deal of freedom creativity to make changes and really effect results and in turn the bottom line.

To be successful in this role it is anticipated that you will have a strong Training background from a similar type of operational background such as logistics/supply chain/warehousing/driving etc. You'll need to be able to operate flexibly and autonomously and be able to travel, potentially nationally and potentially on a weekly basis.
