I am currently partnering with an international freight forwarder based in Manchester. They are looking for an imports professional to join their ever-expanding organisation and will provide full training to import professionals who have not inputted their own customs entries.

Hours of work: 9am to 5.30pm.

Salary Negotiable based upon experience

To learn the skills necessary to handle the import process from start to finish for a multitude of clients via Sea, Air and Road to include:

  • To communicate and update customers on a regular basis on the status of their shipments.
  • To liaise with origin offices, managing new bookings and handling
  • To request information from customers for the preparation & submission to the Customs system and for delivery to the customer avoiding unnecessary delays.
  • To create jobs in the operating systems.
  • To submit customs clearance using ICE
  • To process shipping line invoices for payment prior to delivery
  • To ensure original documents are posted accordingly for release
  • To update and maintain customer schedules
  • To cost and invoice files.
  • To maintain and pass KPI service standards
  • To work effectively with other team members to ensure a positive environment, good operating procedures and practice.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Import Experience (essential)
  • Customs Knowledge (Preferred but not essential)
  • Exposure to multiple types of freight (Preferred)
  • Career Driven
