What to expect

With a unique approach to mental health support worker, you'll be working with their wider support network; healthcare professionals and their family members to support them with independent living, all within a familiar and comfortable home environment.

Your in depth understanding of the recovery principles in mental health, and experience of working with personality disorder will contribute to the aims of the service. A positive attitude and engaging nature is essential, and the ability to work as part of a team, as well as on a one to one basis. Good communication and listening skills are important.

This service has a number of opportunities for both a waking night worker, and also day staff with occasional sleep-ins.

What you'll need

Ideally you will be NVQ/QCF 3 qualified or be up for studying towards this and preferably be a driver.
You'll be 100% committed to the needs of the person with previous experience as a Support Worker.

If you have previous experience of these complex needs then all the better, however if you're committed and willing to learn with some experience in Mental Health, we can teach you the rest.
