Mechanical Assembly Technician - West Sussex - £23-24000pa, plus benefits.

Our West Sussex based client is a leader in the design and manufacture of special purpose machinery.

They require a Mechanical Assembly Technician to be responsible for the assembly of mechanical components using fine tooling and carry out some electrical wiring.

Duties include:
Carrying out various sub-assemblies in order to feed the main assembly lines.
Responsible for ensuring the sub-assemblies are ready in time for the assembly technicians.
Working with stores to make sure that Kanban quantities are achieved.
Assisting in setting up new assembly lines which could involve creating appropriate racking/ trolleys/Kanban cards.
Keeping the assembly lines clean, neat and tidy.
Maintaining a safe work area.

Training
Successful candidates will be given training in the factory to gain knowledge of components and assembly (mechanical and electrical/electronic) .

Qualifications & Skills:
Experience in assembly of mechanical components using fine tooling.
Ability to work on own initiative, and plan work efficiently.
Ability to maintain concentration at a high level, with meticulous quality checks throughout
Full UK manual driving licence (with no more than 3 points on)

Preferable:
City & Guilds or HNC/HND, or apprenticeship
Some light electrical wiring skills
Counterbalance forklift licence (either current or expired)



The role offers a salary from £23000pa plus paid overtime, and other benefits after a qualifying period.
