MANAGING QUANTITY SURVEYOR / COMMERCIAL MANAGER
JOIN AN ESTABLISHED REGIONAL MAIN CONTRACTOR

The role is for a Managing Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager as they continue to grow in the size, scope and the scale of their operation, and as a result are securing new projects. This company has been around for over 40 years and hold a reputation on the market for building high quality, technical projects to time and budget within the Sussex, Surrey, Kent and London areas. The role is for a technically excellent Surveyor who will take emphasis on pre-construction programming, tendering and subsequent budget reporting. This role will be attractive to you if you have a clear career path to date, a tack record within main contracting and are looking for a new opportunity where you will have the chance to help move the company forward and with a view to eventually assume the role Surveying Director. The company aims to maintain its reputation of being the leading provider of small works main contracting projects within the south-east region on England.

YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO DEMONSTRATE THE FOLLOWING:

* Appropriate professional qualification or equivalent degree in surveying (e.g. Member of Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors)
* HNC/HND or Degree quailed in a Construction related subject
* Experience across a range of sectors including residential, commercial, education & leisure
* Project values £3m-£6m
* A proven track record of delivery as a surveyor within an established main contractor
* Have a detailed understanding of technical detailing, tendering process and building regulations
* build and maintain strong relationships with project, technical and construction teams

AS A MANAGING QUANTITY SURVEYOR YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

* Ensure that all feasibility inputs are realistic prior to issuing cost plans
* Chairing meetings with clients and colleagues
* Full commercial responsibilities of projects
* Analysis, evaluation and negotiation of quotations/tenders from
* sub-contractors ensuring best value
* Prepare and manage detailed project budgets
* Collation of all reconciliations of costs and reporting of monthly cost reports
* Exercise full cost control of projects
* Prepare build cost estimates based on accurate cost libraries and assumptions
* Set up of robust fee monitoring process and production of accurate
* Ensuring timely placement of sub-contractor contracts following adequate tender programme.
* Ensuring all tendered work complies with group procurement policies
