Over the last couple of years, Yorkshire has been relatively quiet in terms of infrastructure development. The good news is that this is all about to change. We are working with the civil engineering contractor that is likely to be busiest over the next few years in the region and they have highlighted a number of vacancies that they are going to have to fill if they're going to successfully deliver on their commitments. The office location for these roles will be Leeds.
One of the roles is for a Land Surveyor / Site Engineer. This is a dual role as it's not believed that there will be enough surveying to fill a full time role so they are looking to bring someone in who can perform Land Surveyor duties as well as provide accurate setting out services as well.
The schemes will generally all be highway based and will require topographical surveys and volumetric calculations as part of the earthworks. In terms of Site Engineering you will be required to set out for roads, kerbs, drainage, ducting, structures, etc… To be considered for the role you should hold a relevant academic qualification and have demonstrable and current experience within civil engineering as both a Land Surveyor and Site Engineer. Ideally you will have gained that experience working for a Tier 1 contractor.
