This Firm are one of the most prominent UK and international law firms in the country, providing excellent legal services to a variety of business and individuals. The firm has offices across the country, however, have a growing global network. The firm consists of 140+ partners and more than 800 professionals, with a strong reputation for expertise in sectors such as technology, private wealth, shipping and real estate.

The firm's Knowledge Team conduit between the fee-earning and central teams to deliver a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. They were finalists in the PSL/Knowledge category of the LexisNexis Legal Awards in recent years. The team is responsible for helping individuals, teams and the firm achieve strategic goals, maximise operational efficiency, drive innovation, facilitate change and create value from the firm's knowledge assets.

This position will involve working closely with the IP, IT & Commercial Team and the Knowledge Team to develop innovative ways in which to better serve their clients and support the fee earning team.

As part of the role you will be:

  • Working with the Knowledge Team to identify opportunities to improve knowledge or information services and systems in line with the Knowledge Strategy.
  • Working with the Business Services Division Knowledge Team (comprising a Senior Corporate Knowledge Lawyer, a Senior Employment Knowledge Lawyer, and a Knowledge Paralegal (who works across the Division)) proactively, to plan for and identify upcoming challenges and opportunities in the market for the Division, as well as the IP, IT & Commercial team in particular.
  • Building strong relationships with members of the Knowledge team, the IP, IT and Commercial team and across the firm to understand and manage expectations and increase engagement in knowledge initiatives.
  • Working closely with the Business Development team to increase market awareness of the firm's IP, IT and Commercial capabilities and to add value to existing clients.
  • Overseeing the organisation of a training schedule for the IP, IT & Commercial team, including chairing regular know-how meetings for the team and, where necessary, delivering training.


The ideal candidate will be at least 7 years' PQE and have sound legal knowledge of one or more of the team's practice areas of IP, IT, commercial and data protection, as well as a solid understanding of and interest in knowledge management and marketing. The role will suit a confident and motivated senior solicitor who is committed to providing the best and most efficient possible service to both internal and external clients.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent technical knowledge of and experience in one or more of the team's areas of practice as well as genuine enthusiasm for those practice areas and how they will develop in the future.
  • Experience in Knowledge Management is preferred.
  • Highly IT literate, confident user of MS Office and legal and business information systems with experience of SharePoint or similar platforms.
  • Interest in or experience of legal technology, including document automation (e.g. Contract Express), AI based tools (e.g. Relativity and Luminance), e-signatures (e.g. Docusign) and extranet sites (e.g. HighQ Collaborate)
