Infrastructure Engineer

This is a generalist Infrastructure Engineer role in a Medium sized business with global sites that is scaling and is positively affecting the community and the environment.

You will be part of a small team helping them create a Scalable Ops model that will include the use of 3rd parties / outsourcing, especially for other locations. There will be limited travel with the role to other sites.

In Return You:

  • Will have a broad range of exposure to various technical environments ( examples include System Administrator, Networking ( WAN, LAN and MPLS ), ADSL, fibre, Cloud, Databases, SCADA systems )

  • Will have worked with 3rd parties / outsourced work in the past, desirable to have helped implement an outsource model

  • Will be comfortable engaging with non-IT colleagues, suppliers and comfortably bridge the technology and business gap

  • Are hands on but you also will have taken ownership of Infrastructure projects and managed them end-to-end and this is demonstrated in your CV

  • Will have:
    • Managed IT Systems
    • Used Monitoring Tools for Applications
    • Responding to potential Security Risks
    • Helped Administer Systems
    • Be familiar with Database Administration
    • Worked on Compliance ( ISO27001, NIS Directive )
    • Championed Compliance Best Practice
    • Believe in a best practice Hardware Refresh Policy
    • Experience of working on Disaster Recovery
    • Experience of working on Business Continuity procedures
    • Audits, preferably Security Audits

Not Essential but Advantageous:

  • To be an IT Infrastructure Specialist in an Engineering Sector and used to supporting other non-IT Engineers ( oil & gas, Energy, Mechanical, etc. )
