You will own the business continuity and crisis management plans and ensure these are always aligned with the current business requirements. This will require a deep understanding of the core business model and how the branch offices interact and where unique business offerings are supported locally. Instigate regular exercises to ensure that processes and procedures are thoroughly tested and any defects that are identified are improved within an acceptable timescale. Engage with technology functions to ensure resilience is implemented, tested and fit for purpose, work with external vendors to ensure contractual arrangements are effective and conduct regular marketplace reviews for opportunities to enhance capability. Working closely with the Group Risk Committee to present current risks and seek support for recommended solutions.
A minimum of 10 years in the development and ownership of continuity planning. A certified member of the Business Continuity Institute. Enthusiasm and keenness to be involved in all aspects of business continuity and operational resilience. An understanding of regulatory and industry demands related to the financial services sector coupled with a structured attitude to problem solving and rigorous approach ongoing testing. Experience with emergency/mass communication tools and a good understanding of wider technology and application landscape, such as emerging technologies and cloud infrastructure. The ability to develop strong relationships and communicate across all levels of the organisation, exceptional administrative skills and calm and controlled under pressure. Strong self-discipline and integrity to comply with risk controls within a regulated environment and experience of participating in large scale, financial services related resilience exercises (including engagement with FCA and PRA). Although not essential, an understanding of financial services applications systems and data protection legislation would be advantageous.
